If you haven’t heard about it, you must have been internetless for last few days. The Ice Bucket Challenge is a social media campaign that aims to raise awareness and money to fight Lou Gehrig’s disease, also called amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS.
The challenge is to douse yourself in ice cold water, nominate a few friends to take up this challenge or they donate money to the ALS, record all this & post on social media- that’s it. Of course, one can dump the ice-cold water and still donate. That it has been a huge success would be an understatement – it has raised more than $4 million in last 2 weeks for ALS association – and growing(last year it raised $1 mn in the same period).
